The United Nations calls it "femicide," the wanton assault, rape, and murder of girls and women. It's a cultural epidemic in Latin America.

Femicide is visible every step of the way from South America and the Northern Triangle countries to the Mexico-U.S. border. Rape trees, where women's panties hang from branches, and rape tents, where girls and women are dragged by smugglers, dot the route.

Do you think the rapes stop when illegal migrants cross into the U.S.? No.

Now women are being victimized by migrants bringing femicide to your neighborhood. Where are the women's rights groups? Silent. They couldn't care less. It's politically incorrect to criticize Latin American culture — even its tolerance for violence against females.

Last week in Queens, an Ecuadoran illegal migrant, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, allegedly attacked a 13-year-old girl walking home from school, held her at knifepoint, and raped her, recording the assault as he proceeded.

Yet "Squad" member Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., laughed off news coverage of the crime as "fearmongering."

Inga-Landi has a history of abusing females, including beating his pregnant wife, according to police reports. He crossed the border illegally in 2021 and was ordered to leave the country by a New York City immigration judge in February 2022.

And what about the 13-year-old victim? Her father adamantly opposes President Joe Biden's "open border policy" because "it invites a lot of things that we don't need," adding, "look what came in. Look what happened to my daughter."

Sexual violence against females is rampant in Latin America, reports the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, a division of the U.N.

In Mexico, femicide is soaring, according to the George Bush Institute at the Wilson Center, a nonpartisan Washington, D.C., think tank. "Gender-based violence remains one of the most significant yet overlooked drivers of out migration across Central America and the broader region."

On April 24, U.N. official Alice Shackelford warned of an "emergency situation" in Honduras, where she said violence against women is being normalized and the femicide rate has risen to the highest in Latin America.

Also reporting on the "degree of hatred and contempt against women" in Honduras, Migdonia Ayestad of the National Autonomous University of Honduras explained that "men believe they have the right to women's bodies."

The U.N. has its own far-left ax to grind. And most illegal migrants from Latin America are not violent criminals. Even so, dangerous anti-female attitudes are invading our country because of open borders.

Leftists deny the problem. They're horrified that Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein raped women on a casting couch, but they're in denial when Latin American illegal migrants rape. CNN political commentator Van Jones said on Saturday, "There's no culture south of the border that celebrates rape. ... You are insulting people below the border."

Sorry, facts are facts. Political correctness be damned.

The incidents are piling up. A Honduran illegal migrant was arrested on Feb. 25 in Kenner, Louisiana, after he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint.

Mexican illegal migrant Eduardo Sarabia was arrested May 16 for allegedly kidnapping and raping two women in a white van outfitted to be a "rape dungeon on wheels."

The El Salvadorian illegal migrant arrested this month for allegedly raping and murdering Rachel Morin was also wanted for assaulting a mother and her 9-year-old daughter during a Los Angeles home break-in.

Venezuela is supplying a hefty share of femicidal criminals. That country refuses to provide the U.S. with criminal background information about migrants apprehended at the border. Here are a few of the consequences.

Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student, was raped and murdered on Feb. 22, allegedly by a Venezuelan migrant.

That same day, Venezuelan migrant Renzo Mendoza Montes allegedly sexually abused a 14-year-old in Virginia.

Last week, 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray's lifeless body was found in Houston; she was murdered allegedly by two Venezuelan migrants. They allegedly lured the girl under a bridge, stripped her naked below the waist, bound her hands and feet, and raped her for two hours before killing her.

Too many deaths and life-shattering assaults. Tell women's rights groups backing Biden that safety from rapists and sexually motivated killers is a right.

Leftists object to the word "illegal." They prefer "undocumented." Let's not mince words. Some are rapists and killers. Monsters. Close the border to stop the femicidal madness.

Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden on Thursday night will take part in the highly anticipated first presidential debate of the 2024 race for the White House.

The earliest general election debate in history will be held in CNN's Atlanta studios and moderated by network anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

Newsmax will begin its debate coverage at 8 p.m. ET, and then simulcast CNN's feed beginning at 9 p.m.

Newsmax's post-debate coverage will include Republican vice presidential contenders, and body language experts.

Newsmax hosts will be Rob Schmitt and Mercedes Schlapp and Jenn Pellegrino. Top analysts include Pam Bondi, Dick Morris, Mark Halperin, and Rick Santorum, with special guests Matt Schlapp, Ric Grenell, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Ben Carson, and Gov. Doug Burgum.

Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, have not spoken since their last debate weeks before the 2020 presidential election.

This will be the first presidential debate since 1984 not to be hosted by the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, which was created in 1987.

The two men will stand at podiums located 8 feet apart, with Biden on viewers' right and Trump on viewers' left, and before no audience, CNN said.

Each man will be given 2 minutes to answer questions, and 1 minute for rebuttals.

When one man is speaking, the other's microphone will be turned off.

Trump and Biden will be able to tell how much time they have left to speak through "timing" lights the network has set up throughout the studio and in the candidates' field of vision.

CNN has outlined that candidates will not be allowed to have props or notes, but a pen, paper, and water bottle will be provided at the podium.

There will be two commercial breaks, during which the candidates have agreed not to consult staff or others while the cameras are off.

Biden will give the first closing statement, and Trump will have the second closing statement.

Although neither major party has officially nominated its presidential candidate, the two men are expected to oppose each other in November's election. Neither man took part in debates during the primaries.

"Debates tend not to change voters' perception in ways that change their vote: They ordinarily reinforce, not persuade," said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, the director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania and an expert on presidential communications.

"What makes this debate different is that you have in essence two incumbents about whom voters have very well-formed views. But that doesn't mean that those perceptions are right or match what voters will see on stage."

Tapper and Bash are expected to ask questions concerning various issues. While Democrats undoubtedly want to bring attention to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, the abortion issue, and Trump's conviction in a New York criminal trial, Republicans want topics to include such things as rising inflation, the southern border's migrant crisis, and anti-Israel protests around the U.S. following the Hamas terrorists' Oct. 7 attack and massacre.

Many people on Wall Street are looking for the candidates to prove they are sharp enough for four more years in the White House.

"The nightmare scenario for investors would be if neither candidate seems up for the job," said Robert Phipps, director at Per Stirling in Austin, Texas.

Jack Ablin, chief investment officer at Cresset Capital in Chicago wants to see "a rational inside-the-lines debate."

"I'm not looking for drama," Ablin said. "In many respects this debate personifies this country's election process ... If it's just chaos and somebody walks off the stage and it just can't be done, it sends a terrible message to the American people and the world."

ABC will host the second debate, moderated by anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis, on Sept. 10.

Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted an invitation from CBS News to debate her eventual Republican rival in studio on either July 23 or Aug. 13.

In a strong sign of support of Israel from Hollywood, more than 700 figures from the entertainment industry have signed an open letter to condemn Hamas and demand the safe return of hostages being held in Gaza.

The letter is the first major move from the entertainment industry, as Israel has been under attack.

Released by the nonprofit Creative Community for Peace, the letter has been signed by celebrities and Hollywood leaders including Gal Gadot, Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Pine, Mayim Bialik, Liev Schreiber, Amy Schumer, Michael Douglas, Jerry Seinfeld, Debra Messing, Ryan Murphy, Greg Berlanti, Haim Saban, Irving Azoff, Ynon Kreiz, Mark Hamill, Howie Mandel, Bella Thorne, Antoine Fuqua and more.
