Victory by Judson Phillips

Victory

The Tea Party movement began in 2009.  We fought hard in 2009 and 2010, but until the elections, it was hard to say we had won something.  We won something then and while this battle is not over, it looks like we have won again!

What have we won?

We are in the process of beating Obama on the debt ceiling and the budget battle.

When liberals are conceding defeat, you know things are good.  On MSNBC, Joe Scarborough said, “Obama caved.”  The Daily Beast’s Tina Brown said, “he will be going on the road for six months as a loser.”

Even Obamaton and chief unofficial propagandist Chris Matthews said Obama should not have gone on TV to deliver a political speech.   In other words, “Obama you really blew it badly.”

Even while threatening a veto of the Republican plan, Obama is quietly telling the leaders of banks the country will not default.  How will that happen?  The plan conceived of by Harry Reid is not going to pass the House.  John Boehner’s plan may not pass the House.   The only way to avoid default is to admit to something the Tea Party has been saying for a while.  There is enough money there to avoid default.  There may not be enough money there for all of the bills, but the country does not need to default.

The greatest part of what may become a huge Tea Party victory is that John Boehner, who wants to raise the debt ceiling by another $2.5 trillion, may not be able to get his plan through the House.  So many House Republicans are refusing to vote for this, Boehner may need Democrats.   Such a rebellion does not bode well for Boehner if he wants a second term as Speaker.

Eric Cantor has gotten into the fight telling Republicans to quit whining and vote.  Unfortunately for Boehner and Cantor, the Tea Party is there, reminding the freshmen how they got into office.  These Representatives are listening to the people at home and they know they people do not want a tax hike, a debt ceiling hike or anything else, other than cutting spending.

Considering, three years ago, the Tea Party movement did not exist, the results have been pretty good.   Three years ago, a lot of conservatives stayed home when the Presidential race was between RINO and liberal John McCain and far left wing extremist Barack Obama.

Then came the Tea Party and Middle America came back to the political fight.   And it has been a fight.  In two and a half years, we have become the most powerful political force in the nation.

We can take a moment to congratulate ourselves, but only a moment.  Boehner still wants to raise the debt ceiling by $2.5 trillion.  At least with his plan there are no new taxes, but that does not make it a great plan.   Just this afternoon, the Daily Caller reported that in the last few years, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) sent more than $90 million in tax dollars to China for health work in China!

That is something China should be spending money on, not America.

This is why we must cut, spending, cap it and balance our budget.

Obama may have caved.  Boehner has not.  We need John Boehner to break out that freshly laundered white flag of surrender again, but this time we need him surrendering to the Tea Party.  This time we need him cutting spending without raising taxes or the debt.

We may be winning but the war is not over.  Keep the pressure on.

Victory is in sight!
