Savannah Guthrie Leads to Replace Disgraced Brian Williams

The Drudge Report claims that Savannah Guthrie is the leading candidate to replace NBC’s Nightly News anchor Brian Williams if he is ultimately fired.

On Tuesday evening, NBC announced that Williams was being suspended without pay. The announcement was made in a public letter written by NBC News President Deborah Turness.

In her letter Turness reported that the review of Williams’ actions is “ongoing.” The NBC executive also noted that top brass are “concerned” about comments that Williams has made while talking about experiences “in the field.”

Clearly he is still on the bubble and the suspension isn’t necessarily NBC’s final word on the matter.

Williams’ reputation has already suffered. After the controversy began the NBC anchor plummeted from 23rd most respected to 835th most respected on the trustworthy index.

Others are circling for his job, and according to it appears that Savannah Guthrie is in the lead to take the Nightly News chair.

On Tuesday evening, Drudge ‘s sources revealed that “Executives have narrowed in on Guthrie in recent days.”
