Pam Bondi is being talked about as Trump’s next attorney general

But she won't say if she wants it.

The ink on former Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation letter is barely dry, but Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is already being talked about as his potential successor.
Multiple media outlets have named Bondi to Trump's short list, touting her strong ties to the president and the fact that she'll be out of a job soon.
The outgoing Florida attorney general, Pam Bondi has long been a Trump ally. She met with the then-president elect at Trump Tower following his 2016 victory and was considered for a Cabinet position two years ago. Her tussles with former President Barack Obama no doubt will appeal to Trump, who is ever-mindful of a need to assuage his conservative base. But the 52-year-old might prefer cashing in after her term expires by heading for a lucrative private-sector position — or positions. That could include some kind of cable news show or job — where she still would have the president’s ear without a public servant’s salary.
Does Bondi want the job, though? Has she discussed it with Trump? Her office wouldn't say late Wednesday.
"As the Attorney General has repeatedly said, she has not yet made a decision as to what she will do next," spokesman Whitney Ray said.
