Dear Commissioner Hodder:

I have long admired the work of the Salvation Army.  TSA provided not just charity—but hope—to tens of thousands in need.  Salvationists gave support to any American—no matter their race, creed or religions. Tens of millions of Americans give every year to help fund the race-blind work of TSA.  As a result of the good work of TSA—along with America’s uplifting culture and prosperous economy—many have gone from poverty to productive happy lives.

Yet for some reason, your organization is choosing to hold classes that claim America is racist country.   In these sessions, trainers demand that Salvationists understand their “white privilege” or that they have “unconscious bias” against people of color.  Given the dedication of Salvationists, such self-flagellation is flatly wrong. Rather the Salvation Army should be singing the praises of all who dedicate themselves to your good work.

Moreover, you—Commander Hodder—should be proudly acclaiming how the success of the Salvation Army proves Americans are not fundamentally racist. You are well placed to push back against those who wish to divide us by race. You—and all your leadership—must speak to the goodness—and colorblind nature—of the American people. Such statements could bring wonderful unity to the country. Positive statements about what Americans have done and will continue to do to help each other no matter their race will lead to beautiful bonding among all people.

We urge you to speak out against what has become the dominant—but misplaced—narrative that America is a racist country. You are well positioned to show that DEI only encourages racial divisions.

Commissioner Hodder, you truly are in position to help Americans move beyond the angers of the past. Please take this path—albeit one of much resistance—but one which you are well positioned to assume. History is always written by those who renounce mainstream thinking. We are not making an easy ask of you. Many in the news, in political power and those with much influence will call you evil and other names. Yet, you have the work of TSA to support you as you lead Americans against the very divisive claims of DEI.

We write to you as America needs you. Those who are in need of hope—and the American dream—need your leadership. Please lead America out of the divisive claims of DEI and to one of unity, love and hope.

With respect,

YOUR NAME
