U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who was nominated by former President Donald Trump in 2020, Saturday signaled she has a "preliminary intent" to agree to his request to appoint a special master to oversee the FBI's review of evidence and materials seized on Aug. 8 at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Cannon, in an order issued on Saturday, ordered responses by Trump and the Department of Justice to be filed before the hearing, scheduled for Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. at the Paul G. Rogers U.S. Courthouse in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The DOJ must respond to Trump's demand by Tuesday for the master, or a third-party attorney who would be responsible for filtering out privileged material that may have been seized in the search. A special master is often a former judge.

Trump's deadline to reply to the response from the DOJ is due on Wednesday.

Cannon also ordered the Department of Justice to file its response publicly to Trump's demand for the special master while filing another response, which would be under seal, that would go into detail about what the FBI seized during its search, including a "particularized notice indicating the status of Defendant’s review of the seized property, including any filter review conducted by the privilege review team and any dissemination of materials beyond the privilege review team.

She concluded the order by saying that it should not be construed as her final decision in the matter.

Friday, Trump's attorneys, responding to a request from Cannon for further information concerning the appointment of a special master, pointed to further legal case law discussions to support his case.

The response came hours after the DOJ released a heavily redacted version of the affidavit used to obtain the warrant used by the FBI in its search of Trump's estate, leading him to claim that the document raised "more questions than answers."

Weathermen, the group was organized as a faction of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) national leadership.[2] Officially known as the Weather Underground Organization (WUO) beginning in 1970, the group's express political goal was to create a revolutionary party to overthrow American imperialism.

The FBI described the WUO as a domestic terrorist group,[3] with revolutionary positions characterized by Black Power and opposition to the Vietnam War.[2] The WUO took part in domestic attacks such as the jailbreak of Timothy Leary in 1970.[4][5] The "Days of Rage" was the WUO's first riot in October 1969 in Chicago, timed to coincide with the trial of the Chicago Seven. In 1970, the group issued a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government under the name "Weather Underground Organization".

Dr. Henry Masur, M.D., ’72, chief of critical care medicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has been awarded the Weill Cornell Medicine Alumni Association Award of Distinction.

The award, established in 1949, is presented each year to a Weill Cornell Medical College alumnus who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in research, education or patient care, and has brought acclaim to the institution.

“At Weill Cornell Medicine, you’re surrounded by really high achieving colleagues who have a lot of different talents and ability. To get this award in that kind of company is very gratifying,” said Dr. Masur, a leading researcher in HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.

After graduating from Dartmouth College, Dr. Masur earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed his residency in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He returned to Weill Cornell Medicine for a fellowship in infectious diseases, in the laboratory of Dr. Thomas Jones, now professor emeritus of medicine, ultimately rising to the position of assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases.

In 1981, while at Weill Cornell Medicine, Dr. Masur treated one of the first AIDS patients, for pneumocystis pneumonia, and co-authored one of three peer-reviewed articles in the New England Journal of Medicine to first describe the then unknown syndrome.

“Weill Cornell had the patient population, labs, expert collaborators and an academic infrastructure to investigate and begin to understand what this new outbreak was about,” he said.

Following the discovery, Dr. Anthony Fauci, M.D. ’66, recruited him to the NIH in 1982 to launch an HIV/AIDS research program and help establish a new department of critical care medicine. Dr. Masur did much of the early work to define how opportunistic infections related to AIDS are managed. He succeeded Joseph Parrillo, M.D. ’72, as chief of the Critical Care Medicine Department at the NIH Clinical Center in 1989, a position he currently still holds.

He is the founder and current co-editor of the NIH-CDC-Infectious Disease Society of America Guidelines on Management of HIV-Related Opportunistic Infections, as well as a past president of the Infectious Disease Society of America. His NIH group led initial U.S. trials of direct-acting antivirals treatment for Hepatitis C, which significantly improved treatment of the disease, and is currently working on innovative strategies to reduce the impact of substance use disorder on HIV infection prevention and management.

Dr. Masur was recently appointed by Dr. Fauci, with Dr. Roy Gulick, chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Rochelle Belfer Professor in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, to co-chair the NIH guidelines for managing COVID-19.

In 2020, he was awarded the Hubert H. Humphrey Award for Service to America by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Masur will receive the alumni award May 28 at Weill Cornell Medicine’s virtual commencement ceremony.

EXCLUSIVE: Solitary Confinement Was ‘One of the Most Horrible Experiences’ for Dr. Simone Gold: AFLDS Founder (Connecting the Dots: Bureau of Prison, DOJ, FBI, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, FDA & Soros Funded Think Tanks All Networking)

By Meiling Lee, The Epoch Times

https://www.theepochtimes.com/exclusive-solitary-confinement-was-one-of-the-most-horrible-experiences-for-dr-simone-gold-afld-founder_4683078.html

Being put in solitary confinement was one of Dr. Simone Gold’s “most horrible experiences of her life,” according to the chairman of the board for America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS), the organization that Gold founded.

“I mean, unfortunately, she had to spend about eight days in the SHU, which is also known as solitary confinement because she’s unvaccinated,” Joey Gilbert said. “So that was, as she says, one of the most horrible experiences of her life.”

Gold surrendered herself to the Federal Detention Center in Miami (FDC Miami) on July 26, where she was put in solitary confinement for eight days, as part of the prison’s COVID-19 infection prevention protocol for not being fully vaccinated, classified as having received two doses of the COVID-19 injection.

“Not fully vaccinated inmates need to complete a 10-day quarantine as new intakes or if they have a known or suspected exposure to a case of SARS-CoV-2,” the Federal Bureau of Prison that manages federal prisons said on its website.

Gold, in an Aug. 12 email from prison, said that solitary confinement was a “punishing and inhumane experience.”

“Using the excuse of COVID-19, all incoming female inmates are put into a punishment isolation cell under the guise of a ‘quarantine.’ They told me it wasn’t for punishment, but it was certainly a punishing and inhumane experience,” Gold wrote. “Apparently, men are not subjected to this treatment.”

Federal Bureau of Prisons

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Bureau_of_Prisons#History

History

Until 1907, prison matters were handled by the Justice Department General Agent, with responsibility for Justice Department accounts, oversight of internal operations, and certain criminal investigations, as well as prison operations. In 1907, the General Agent was abolished, and its functions were distributed between three new offices: the Division of Accounts (which evolved into the Justice Management Division); the Office of the Chief Examiner (which evolved in 1908 into the Bureau of Investigation, and in the early 1920s into the Federal Bureau of Investigation); and the Office of the Superintendent of Prisons and Prisoners, later called the Superintendent of Prisons (which evolved in 1930 into the Bureau of Prisons).

The Bureau of Prisons was established within the Department of Justice on May 14, 1930 by the United States Congress,[5] and was charged with the "management and regulation of all Federal penal and correctional institutions."[6] This responsibility covered the administration of the 11 federal prisons in operation at the time. By the end of 1930, the system had expanded to 14 institutions with 13,000 inmates, and a decade later in 1940, the system had 24 institutions with 24,360 incarcerated.

Was Madeleine Albright Hunter Biden’s Handler? Connecting the Dots!

Zuckerberg: Facebook Suppressed Hunter Laptop Story After FBI Visit

By Eric Mack    |   Thursday, 25 August 2022 10:47 PM EDT

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/mark-zuckerberg-fbi-laptop/2022/08/25/id/1084687/

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg admitted Thursday that his Meta platforms suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story in the final weeks before the 2020 presidential election after a visit from the FBI, retroactively saying now "it sucks" the story wound up being verifiable.

"The background here is the FBI basically came to us — some of the folks on our team —and said, 'Hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert: We thought there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election, we have it on notice that basically there's about to be some kind of dump that's similar to that, so just be vigilant," Zuckerberg told "The Joe Rogan Experience" in a podcast interview posted Thursday.

Zuckerberg noted Twitter fully blocked the Hunter Biden laptop story, while Facebook merely suppressed it from being spread widely.

"For the five or seven days when it was basically being determined whether it was false, the distribution on Facebook was decreased," Zuckerberg told host Joe Rogan.

Rogan pressed Zuckerberg on just how much it was dialed down and Zuckerberg said "just a little bit less."

"Fewer people saw it than would have otherwise," Zuckerberg admitted, before upping his estimation from "a little bit less" to "but, it's meaningful."

"We thought, hey look, if the FBI — which I still view as a legitimate institution in this country; it's very professional law enforcement — if they come to us and tell us we need to be on guard about something, then I want to take that seriously," he added.

Zuckerberg was not sure if it was specifically the Hunter Biden laptop story, but he said, "it basically fit the pattern."

Rogan asked if Zuckerberg has regrets about suppressing a story during the presidential election's final days.

"Yeah, it sucks," Zuckerberg said. "It turned out after the fact, after the fact-checkers looked into it, no one was able to say it was false.

"I think it sucks, though, in the same way that probably having to go through a criminal trial but being proven innocent in the end sucks."

Still, Zuckerberg defends Facebook's suppression of the story after the FBI's visit.

"I think the process was pretty reasonable," Zuckerberg maintained, admitting it was "a hyper-political issue."
