Chris Christie wins for Republicans in New Jersey while Democrat Bill de Blasio elected mayor of New York - video
Republican incumbent Chris Christie retains the governorship of New Jersey, using his re-election to present himself to American voters as a potential US presidential candidate as Republicans plan their strategy to take back the White House in 2016. Meanwhile in New York, Bill de Blasio wins the mayoral election by a large majority, becoming the first Democrat in 20 years to be elected city mayor.
