Women’s March
Staging Nationwide ‘School Walkout’ To Protest School Shootings
The Daily Caller | 2/17/2018 | Staff
The Women’s March is planning a nationwide walkout next
month to protest Congress’s inaction on cracking down on school shootings in
light of Florida’s recent mass shooting, the group announced.
The group is calling on all students, teachers, parents, school officials and anyone else who supports the cause to “walkout” of classrooms for exactly 17 minutes on Mar. 14. The walkout’s goal is to thwart Congress’s tweets about “thoughts and prayers” and to pass legislation that would actually stop gun violence, the event description reads.

Students - Staff - Right - Environment - Worry
“Students and staff have the right to teach and learn in
an environment free from the worry of being gunned down in their classrooms or
on their way home from school,” the group noted in the Facebook post. “Parents
have the right to send their kids to school in the mornings and see them home
alive at the end of the day.”
