I’m running for President of the United States because the truth still matters. We need leaders that are willing to stand up and tell it like it is.

Chris Christie (R) was the governor of New Jersey from 2010 to 2018. He officially filed to run for president on June 6, 2023.[3]

Christie has centered his campaign around criticism of former President Donald Trump (R). Speaking of Trump during an interview with Fox News, Christie said, "He's a failed leader. We gave him a Republican House, a Republican Senate, and he failed ... he failed us by losing the House, by losing the Senate, and by turning over the White House to Joe Biden."[4] During his campaign launch, Christie said, "The reason I’m going after Trump is twofold. One, he deserves it. And two, it’s the way to win."[5]

Christie ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. He suspended his campaign on February 10, 2016, after receiving 1.8% of the vote in the Iowa caucuses and receiving 7.4% of the vote in the New Hampshire primary.
