Whoopi Goldberg Goodwill Ambassadors for UNICEF (Connecting the Dots: Whoopi Goldberg, UNICEF, William Morris, U.N., Sidley Austin LLP & Soros Funding, All Networking)

Whoopi Goldberg is one of few artists to have won a Grammy, Academy Award, Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony. She is also a prolific producer who's used her global reach to advance child rights and other humanitarian efforts, including those related to HIV/AIDS, education, housing and substance abuse.

Born and raised in New York City, Whoopi performed in San Diego and the Bay Area with the Blake Street Hawkeyes theatre troupe. It was there that she created the characters that would become "The Spook Show” and evolve into a hit Broadway show, Grammy Award-winning album and HBO special that helped launch her career.

Whoopi was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2003. Most recently, she partnered with UNICEF to help advocate and fundraise for the global COVID-19 response, as well as for efforts to tackle pneumonia.
