Chris Hayes Scores
Worst Ratings In Decade, Still Beats CNN
by John Nolte26 Mar 2015
In the 25-54 age demo last week, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes might have delivered the worst ratings in a decade
in his timeslot. Nevertheless, while he was sinking in that particular
demographic, every day last week Hayes still beat CNN’s Anderson Cooper in
total viewers.,
Despite the big comeback narrative CNN chief Jeff Zucker is pushing, the truth is that this is a demo
comeback for the left-wing cable news network, not a viewership comeback. In
the advertiser-coveted 25-54 age demo, CNN is getting shellacked by Fox News and edging a sinking MSNBC. In total viewers,
however, the story is completely different. During primetime, MSNBC
still beats CNN.
Below are the total viewer/demo viewer numbers during the
8pm hour:
FOXN THE OREILLY FACTOR: 2,683 – 498
CNN Anderson Cooper 360: 438 – 177
MSNBC ALL IN W/ CHRIS HAYES: 561 – 94
FOXN THE OREILLY FACTOR: 2,812 – 524
CNN Anderson Cooper:
360: 484 – 112
MSNB ALL IN W/ CHRIS HAYES: 500 – 72

CNN Anderson Cooper 360:

MSNB ALL IN W/ CHRIS HAYES: 626 – 58
FOXN THE OREILLY FACTOR: 2,959 – 614
CNN Anderson Cooper 360:

MSNB ALL IN W/ CHRIS HAYES: 462 – 87

MSNB ALL IN W/ CHRIS

Demo viewers are important due to the fact they set
advertiser rates.
As far as reach and impact, during the crucial primetime
hours, CNN is still a third-place joke.
