Former Sen. Norm Coleman Endorses Jeb Bush
by Dr. Susan Berry 27 Jan 2016
Former Sen. Norm Coleman
(R-MN) – who ended his prolonged
re-election bid in 2009 by conceding to current Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) 4%— is
endorsing Jeb Bush for president.
Coleman had previously endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham
(R-SC) 37%, who ended his bid for the White House in December.
On Fox
News on Monday, Coleman was asked why he was endorsing Bush. He
replied:
I spent the last year working with a pro-Israel
community, working with a bipartisan group with Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh, and
Saxby Chambliss, fighting an Iran deal that would pave the way for Iran getting
a nuclear weapon…
We all know that ISIS is gaining strength…serious threat
to our national security…the one person who is ready to be commander-in-chief
on Day 1 is the one person who put together before Paris, before San Bernardino,
a plan to defeat ISIS…is Jeb Bush.
“That’s the issue, national security is the issue,”
Coleman added. “My friend and colleague Lindsey Graham ended his campaign. I
actually chaired Lindsey’s Super PAC, and he said the same thing… The man with
the plan, the man who can get it done…who can be commander-in-chief on Day 1 is
Jeb Bush.”
