Stolen Valor Indignation Mocked in Comedy Central ‘Tosh.0′ Segment

Stolen Valor Indignation Mocked in Comedy Central ‘Tosh.0′ Segment
by Jeff Poor 15 Apr 2015
On this week’s broadcast of Comedy Central’s “Tosh.0,” host Daniel Tosh took aim at the group Guardians of Valor, an organization that confronts people wearing military uniforms and posing as veterans to reap certain benefits. Those confrontations are ultimately posted on the Internet as an effort to shame those for stealing “valor.”

“[T]hose were real soldiers confronting people pretending to be soldiers,” Tosh said. “Stolen valor — sure technically it’s still a felony, but I say those impostors are still heroes. Fake boobs don’t make me any less horny than real ones. They’re out there risking possible embarrassment just to get a free appetizer or a chick’s number. That’s courage in my book. What are the real soldiers fighting for, if not for our freedom to impersonate them? Haven’t you ever heard of dressing for the job you want?”
