Hungary has made it clear that they have no patience for George Soros and his meddling in the affairs of other nations’ governments. Though ironically, in this case, Hungary is Soros’ native country.

Soros, worth over $25 billion, has invested billions in political causes over the decades and has a flag planted in Hungary too. The Hungarian government has publicly voiced opposition to Soros’ influence in the country since 2015 and proposed legislation targeting him earlier in the year.

In February, a “Stop Soros” bill was submitted to parliament that would “ban non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that support migration and pose a ‘national security risk.'” It also would impose a 25 percent tax on foreign donations to NGOs that back migration in Hungary.

It was, in effect, a way of targeting Soros because of the pro-open borders policies he’s pushed for in his home country. Since then, they’ve only continued turning up the heat on Soros.

According to the Daily Wire:

“A network of aid groups founded by George Soros is set to close its offices in Budapest, citing an increasingly hostile political environment toward the Hungarian-born billionaire.”

“The Open Society Foundations will move local staff to Berlin and base its operations for Hungary out of the German capital, the group said in a statement Tuesday, in what represents a fresh escalation in the conflict between Prime Minister Viktor Orban and civil society groups,” reports WSJ.

Patrick Gaspard, president of Soros’ propaganda organization Open Society Foundations, says that Hungary unfairly persecuted him. “The government of Hungary has denigrated and misrepresented our work and repressed civil society for the sake of political gain, using tactics unprecedented in the history of the European Union,” he said.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has made it explicitly clear that his goal has been expelling Soros from the nation. “The Soros network has an extensive sphere of influence within the European Parliament and other EU bodies. Its aim is to build a Europe of mixed population and to condemn the Hungarian government for opposing their view on migration.”

Hungary has gone against the grain when it comes to the rest of Europe in opening up their borders to refugees and migrants from the third world. Most notably they proved that borders do work, because they built one last year, and it cut illegal immigration 99 percent.

It’s ironic that for all the foreign meddling Soros engages in, it’s his country of origin that would be the first to expel him. If only others would follow their lead.
