Beto O'Rourke; 'Hell Yes, We're Going to Take Your AR-15's'

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke wants gun owners to hand over their AR-15s and other dangerous-looking “assault weapons.”

He’s said it time and time again that he wants a gun buy-back or confiscation program to be federally implemented to get these firearms out of the homes of law-abiding citizens and in the hands of the federal government.

As recently as the Democratic debate, O’Rourke said: “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

But, this die-hard push may be backfiring in more ways than one.

The Western Journal reports Alpha Dog Firearms, a gun store in Tempe, Arizona, is running a “Beto special” sale on the AR-15 and AK-47.

The sale is doing so well that the store has run out of the firearms. Instead of the government seizing these weapons, more and more Americans are buying them.

Alpha Dog Firearms initially posted the discount on Facebook before quickly updating the post to say they had sold out of the firearms.

“Beto O’Rourke said ‘hell yes we’re taking your AR’s,’” Alpha Dog said in the post. “Well Beto, we’re discounting AR15’s to such a low price that EVERY AMERICAN can afford one. How about the low low price of just $349.99? Yeah, that works.”

“Available online only. Go to www.alphadogfirearmsaz.com and look for all our AR15 and AK47 deals under the BETO SPECIALS tab. Deals and discounts will be added fresh all day!” the post continued.

The Alpha Dog Firearms post received 11,000 likes and another 18,000 shares.

“UPDATE: SOLD OUT. More deals will be on the website soon. Y’all broke our internet today!!!” was added to the top of the post.

Politico similarly reports O’Rourke’s gung-ho enthusiasm to ban the firearms is resulting in more people buying them. A defiant O’Rourke, however, told NBC’s Chuck Todd that he was not playing into the hands of the NRA with the anti-gun push.
