Only about half of Americans can name the Vice President. When asked a direct question only 37% of people know who their state governor is. 57 percent of Americans could identify J.K. Rowling's fictional boy wizard as Harry Potter, while only 27% could name both of their U.S. senators. All of these people are eligible to vote.
