better off today than it was four years ago?

A man bought a franchise for carpet cleaning.  He started with one truck and his son.

A business friend asked me the other day if my company was better off today than it was four years ago.

I thought about it and here is what I came up with:

1) I have 14 employees. I have 10 trucks which run on gas and propane. Gas was $1.78 four years ago and is now $3.78. My gas bill has gone from say $30,000 to $70,000 including the propane.

2) Since all businesses have to participate in unemployment taxes - mine have increased 300% in four years.

3) We pay all health insurance pemiums for our employees.  An example, this has increased from $35,000 to over $40,000 for a year.

4) We have all sorts of regulations now being forced on us which will cost us thousands of dollars or might even shut us or many businesses down this year.

5) Profit and growth is not in the plan anymore.

Now, the other side of this:

1) I run help wanted ads for new employees with starting pay from $10-14 per hour with no or some experience.

2) We get virtually no response.

3) After we researched why, this is what we found.

4) Those on welfare, unemployment and food stamps receive as much or more than what we can offer.

5) I believe we will no longer be able to compete with entitlements given to those who don't deserve them, illegals, and

5) You know who the others are, just look around.

6) When all small businesses go out of business who will continue to pay for the entitled?

7) The small business people who once contributed to America will now join the entitled.

8) Who will pay for the large ???????public pensions??????? 

9) The government will continue printing money to support itself and continue paying public pensions.

10) Bernanke announced yesterday the infinite quantitive easing (QE), which means America is doomed.

So, to answer the question - A BIG NO! WE ARE WORSE OFF.

Four more years of Obama will destroy America as we know it.
