Netflix's latest original series will unite two
veteran actresses and a theme you might expect from an HBO
production.
Grace and Frankie features Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as
two rivals forced to get to know each other better when their husbands fall in
love with each other.
The streaming service has given a
13-episode order to the half-hour comedy, created by Friends co-creator Marta
Kauffman and Howard J. Morris (Sullivan & Son) and executive produced by
Paula Weinstein through Skydance Prods.
Netflix, which said the show was created
specifically with the stars in mind, already boasts an original series lineup
which includes Orange Is the New Black, House of Cards, Hemlock Grove and
Lilyhammer.
