Ineligible Obama, Playing with Constitutional Fire

Ineligible Obama, Playing with Constitutional Fire
JB Williams, Right Side News.com

Numerous legal challenges have been filed in an effort to force president-elect Barack Obama to validate his constitutional eligibility for the office he seeks and while it is true that suit after suit has been denied in the courts, it is also true that all of them have been denied on a technicality rather than on the merits of the case against Obama.

And although Obama could have ended the debate months ago by simply delivering a $10.00 certified copy of his official birth records to prove his constitutional edibility, he has instead chosen to spend nearly a million bucks in legal defense fees hoping to run out the clock and assume office before any of the legal challenges will be heard by the courts.

A few things are quite clear at this point

Article II - Section I of the Constitution clearly limits those who can serve as Commander-in-Chief to "natural born citizens" of the United States, and for good reason

The Hawaii certificate posted on Obama's web-site is insufficient and in question at best

Obama's Kenyan relatives state that they attended his birth in Kenya
Later, Obama was indeed a legal citizen of Indonesia, traveling under his Indonesian passport as recent as in his early twenties

There is no known record of Obama changing his Indonesian citizenship back to American citizenship, and it wouldn't make him a "natural born citizen" even if he did

None of this seems to matter to anyone of consequence...
On this basis, we are headed towards not one, but numerous constitutional crises. Read article.

Majority of Americans say Obama's citizenship is an issue that must be resolved.
WND.com

A recent asked readers, "Are you satisfied Obama is constitutionally eligible to assume the presidency?" A full 97 percent of nearly 7,200 voters said "no."

The top three answers were:

No, if I can't get a driver's license without an original birth certificate, how can Obama become president without one?

No, and Americans should continue to dog him about it through his term.

No, there's a reason why he's unwilling to disclose his original birth certificate
The next hearing before the justices at the U.S. Supreme Court on the dispute is scheduled Jan. 9, when a conference will be held on a case raised by attorney Philip Berg. Read the full report here.

Obama's Kenyan birth evidence to be revealed online
Arlen Williams, Renew America.us

A private investigator in Hawaii has uncovered the divorce decree for Barack Obama's father and mother, which indicates they had "one child under the age of eighteen, born in Kenya." That is the report of Ed Hale of PlainsRadio.com, an Internet radio site which has focused upon the natural born Citizen challenges to Obama's presidential eligibility.

Hale announced this during his evening Internet broadcast on PlainsRadio.com, Tuesday, 12/30 and confirmed it with I.O. in an online interview, later that night. He reported that certified copies of this documentation have been sent from Hawaii by the investigator to himself and four others. Hale is to receive his copy today, Wednesday, 12/31 and plans to post it graphically on the site, during the day. He will also discuss this on a special Internet broadcast, between 6 pm and 10 pm Central Time, tonight. The site streams audio as soon as it is accessed via Web browser. Read article.

There Will Be No Impeachment Over Blogogate
Free Republic.com

The Barack Obama Whitewash is in full swing and US Attorney, Patrick Fitzgerald is currently in the Tank for the President-elect. My sources in Chicago claim Fitzgerald is now looking out for Obama's interests. The deal has already been made.

Now Fitzgerald has made quite a mess and before it's all over whistleblowers within his own office may spill the beans. The only way out is for a real sweetheart deal where Governor Rod Blagojevich, shuts up, resigns and escapes prison. No hearings, no trials and no risk of exposing Obama or his minions to sunshine.

The lawyers for Tony Rezko are also in on this deal making that's not about cooperating with testimony but silence.

Defense lawyer Ed Genson already knows that Fitzgerald does not want the information Blagojevich can provide about major corruption that extends straight to Obama and several members of his team. The goal is to discredit and silence Blagojevich while getting him out of the way. Read article.

Poll: Six in 10 active-duty service members uncertain or pessimistic about Obama
HotAir.com

Military Times subscribers favored McCain by 45 points in October — but not good news either.

The survey overrepresents soldiers and underrepresents minorities, women and junior enlisted service members, so bear that in mind.

In follow-up interviews, respondents expressed concerns about Obama’s lack of military service and experience leading men and women in uniform.
“Being that the Marine Corps can be sent anywhere in the world with the snap of his fingers, nobody has confidence in this guy as commander in chief,” said one lance corporal who asked not to be identified…

“How are you going to safely pull combat troops out of Iraq?” said Air Force 1st Lt. Rachel Kleinpeter, an intelligence officer with the 100th Operations Support Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, England. “And if you’re pulling out combat troops, who are you leaving to help support what’s left? What happens if Iraq falls back into chaos? Are we going to be there in five years doing the same thing over again?”… Read article.

Who Will Stand Up for the U.S. Constitution?
Lynn Stuter, NWV.com

As we near the end of 2008, the day is rapidly approaching when Congress shall convene to address the votes of the Electoral College as set forth in 3 USC, Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 15,

Congress shall be in session on the sixth day of January succeeding every meeting of the electors. The Senate and House of Representatives shall meet in the Hall of the House of Representatives at the hour of 1 o'clock in the afternoon on that day, and the President of the Senate shall be their presiding officer.

More and more concerned Americans are contacting their U.S. Senators and Representatives regarding the likelihood that Barack Hussein Obama is not eligible to the office of president as required by Article II, Section 1, United States Constitution. One response concerned Americans are receiving follows along the lines that Barack Hussein Obama has presented his birth certificate and is eligible. Nothing could be further from the truth. Obama's Chance to Create Economic Confidence in His First 100 Days
Amith Shlaes, Washington Post.com

The United States has entered the era of the experiment. President-elect Barack Obama is putting forward an infrastructure program whose plans and price tag are unclear. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson whipped up the Troubled Asset Relief Program to buy up bad mortgage instruments, and, expanding on that experiment, President Bush wants to try extending TARP to autoworkers.

The idea that experiments are warranted in current circumstances comes from the New Deal. The official history is familiar: FDR put forward multiple projects, some at cross-purposes. Yet New Deal inconsistency was not a problem and might have been a virtue. Through "bold, persistent experimentation," his catchphrase, Franklin Roosevelt brought recovery. Read article.

The Problem with Hope
AJ DiCintio, NMJ.us

“Hope,” wrote Emily Dickinson, “is the thing with feathers/That perches in the soul,” asking nothing in return for songs of comfort and support that are “sweetest in the gale.”

Despite its importance, however, hope is not the most important of human expressions; for hope alone opens neither the gates of Heaven nor doors on earth.

That truth explains why Alexander Pope, citing humanity’s “blindness to the future” and infinitesimal smallness in contrast to God, advised us to “Hope humbly.”

It also explains why the pragmatic Ben Franklin warned of the danger of depending only upon “the thing with feathers” in his aphorism, “He that lives upon hope will die fasting.”

But why these cautionary thoughts about hope today?

First — Because my guard is up on the subject, having been aroused by a messianic president-elect who is so audaciously enamored of hope that without a bit of shame, he speaks of leading his flock not simply to “perfect this nation” but to “change the world.”

Second — Because from Boston to Berkeley, there are far too many citizens who ought to experience a chill running up their spines in the face of cheap hope but instead exult in it — as an indescribable thrill runs not just up their legs but through their entire bodies. Read article.

Biden's Bogus Feud with Cheney
David Limbaugh.com

If Vice President-elect Joe Biden were slightly less enamored with his own voice he might not confuse himself so often on issues that matter so much, such as his views of presidential and vice presidential authority.

We've all heard about Biden's feud with Vice President Dick Cheney over Cheney's supposed view of executive authority relative to the other branches of government and Cheney's view of the vice president's role.

These happen to be two separate issues. Whether the president encroaches on the constitutional authority of the other branches is a different issue from whether the vice president oversteps his bounds inside the executive branch, or in his limited role in the legislative branch.

The problem is that Biden conflates these issues. He can't seem to keep straight whether he's exercised about an overreaching executive branch or an overreaching vice president mostly inside that branch.

My guess is that he confuses the two issues because, like other Democrats and liberals, he sees Cheney as the real villain in both cases. He blames Cheney, Bush's presumed puppet master, for Bush's alleged executive power grabs and he blames Cheney for overstepping his bounds as vice president.

Let's try to look at these issues separately, even though the players, in this case, overlap. Read article.

Obama Will Ration Your Health Care: Think of his health plan as a federal HMO.
Sally C. Pipes, Online WSJ.com

People are policy. And now that President-elect Barack Obama has fielded his team of Tom Daschle as secretary of Health and Human Services and Melody Barnes as director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, we can predict both the strategy and substance of the new administration's health-care reform.

The prognosis is not good for patients, physicians or taxpayers. If Mr. Daschle meant what he wrote in his book "Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis," Americans can expect a quick, hard push to build more federal bureaucracy, impose price controls, restrict medicines and technology, boost taxes, mandate the purchase of health insurance, and expand government health care.

In his book, Mr. Daschle proposes a National Health Board to regulate the way health care is provided. This board would have vast powers in regulating the massive federal health-care system -- a system that includes Medicare, Medicaid, and other programs. Under Mr. Obama, it is likely that that system will be expanded and that new government insurance for the nonelderly, nonpoor will be created.

Given the opportunity, Mr. Daschle would likely charge the board with determining which treatments and drugs are cost effective and therefore permissible to use for patients covered by the government. Read article.

Devil's Bargain - Expect Ahmadinejad to Offer Obama a Deal
Arthur Herman, NY Post.com

Hamas' missile attacks on Israel last week, and Israel's thunderous re sponse, may only be the prelude for the next big Middle East confrontation between America and Iran - and a defining moment for the new Obama presidency.

Imagine if, in the summer of 1941, Adolf Hitler had approached Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt with this deal: I will cease hostilities and leave the British Empire alone, if you leave me alone to finish my extermination of the Jews. Expect Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to offer a similar deal to Barack Obama come January.

Officially, the offer will be Iranian cooperation with the West in Iran's nuclear program, possibly including United Nations inspections - if the United States reverses course on its support for Israel, including its actions against Hamas in Gaza. Read article.

Minnesota Recount Folly
Trent England, Online WSJ.com

Sorry Minnesota, but the sequel is never as good as the original.

For those who watched the Washington State governor's race recounts in 2004, the ongoing recount drama in Minnesota is just another rehash of the same script -- albeit for a U.S. Senate seat that might put Democrats one vote away from a filibuster-proof majority.

Four years ago in Washington, Democratic Party candidate Christine Gregoire lost the first count, lost the recount, and then won a second, highly dubious recount by 133 votes. In Minnesota, where Sen. Norm Coleman is defending his seat against comedian-turned-candidate Al Franken, the first count showed Mr. Coleman up 725 votes. Today, thanks to another dubious recount, Mr. Franken is apparently in the lead.

Razor-thin margins like these put election systems to the test. As the old proverb goes, they are a crisis and an opportunity. Yet the crises keep coming and the opportunities continue to be squandered. It's time to learn the lessons of the recount wars and address the systemic flaws in our election processes. Indeed, the price of a continued decline in voter confidence is too troubling for most Americans to comprehend. Read article.

Is Media Missing Another Unsavory Obama Associate?
Warner Todd Huston, NewsBusters.org

The list of Barack Obama associates that hold views that clash with mainstream America is getting longer every day and now we can add another notch in the "anti-American" column of Obama campaign workers and supporters. This time we find that the Obama campaign's official blogger, Sam Graham-Felsen, has spent time in France participating in labor riots, has written for a socialist magazine, hung a communist flag in his home, and was a fan of Marx while at Harvard.

Is this a case of the media not vetting another Obama associate? Why have we not heard of this man before and why is the media silent on him? After the stories of John Edwards' anti-Catholic bloggers, you'd think that the media would have been on the lookout for campaign blogger related stories. Yet, this guy and his questionable past has been ignored by the same media that tried to give Edwards' bloggers a pass.

A fellow that blogs at a site called "Common Ills" did a lot of leg work to dig up some of the publicly known utterings of Mr. Graham-Felsen prior to his elevation as the Obama campaign's official blogger, so he deserves the credit for raising a "red" flag on this one. Read article.
