The Warmist Crisis

The Warmist conspiracy has reached a critical point, with doubters in the establishment speaking out. One of Sweden's top climatologists now admit global temperatures have barely changed (translated from Swedish): "The Earth appears to have cooling properties that exceeds the previous thought ones, and that computer models are inadequate to try to foretell a chaotic object like the climate, where actual observation is the only way to go."
In March, a scientific study "Orbital forcing of tree-ring data" found that global warming is caused by that big yellow thing in the sky. Earth's orbit varies over the centuries. Changing distance to the sun affects temperature. Furthermore, Russian scientists have determined that the global temperature will cool by 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2030. (Reported in German in Bild.)
The conspirators had banked on panic to help expand government control over the world's economies. But momentum in public opinion has swung against the doomsayers. As an example of the depth of opposition to the Warmists, consider some of the well-informed commenters on American Thinker who have made valuable points of their own commenting on three recent articles.
RICK Z quipped: "It is without question that Global Warming is a result of Mann. It was Michael E. Mann who published the (fully discredited) 'Hockey Stick' analysis of Global Warming."
WIDEAWAKE wrote: "Science that cannot be questioned is not real science at all. Reality is the liberal's kryptonite."
Several commenters retaught the scientific principle of "least significant digits." Climateers concoct 'temperature reconstructions' from bacteria fossils, ice samples, and tree rings. Translation: They're guessing. We don't know historical temperatures on a calibrated temperature scale. If you measure five samples to the nearest 5 degrees Celsius and five samples to within 0.1 degree, your conclusions can only be calculated to the nearest 5 degrees. Precise measurements are reduced to the level of the least precise data in the mix. When alarmists extrapolate from bacteria fossils or tree rings, their calculations cannot be precise.
PV wrote: "There is no mystery why the dramatic warming of the 1990's occurred. [M]ore important in explaining how this hoax gained legs was the dropout of almost two thirds of all the weather stations in the world in the early 1990s. Most of these stations that were eliminated from the temperature data collection were in higher elevations and colder regions. As Joe D'Leo, from the website ICECAP, says... Just eliminating what would have been colder temperature data from the record would artificially warm the official records being reported." PV accuses NASA's global warming alarmist James Hansen of replacing actual data from these stations with artificial extrapolations.

ALLSTON quoted more from Anthony Watts: "We found stations [measuring temperatures] located next to the exhaust fans of air conditioning units, surrounded by asphalt parking lots and roads, on blistering-hot rooftops, and near sidewalks and buildings that absorb and radiate heat. We found 68 stations located at wastewater treatment plants, where the process of waste digestion causes temperatures to be higher than in surrounding areas. In fact, we found that 89 percent of the stations -- nearly 9 of every 10 -- fail to meet the National Weather Service's own siting requirements that stations must be 30 meters (about 100 feet) or more away from an artificial heating or radiating / reflecting heat source."
ALLSTON also wrote "Are today's weather measurements accurate? Here in Boston, for many many years, one of those monitoring stations was highly visible -- located on a concrete island in the middle of a major roadway and located deep in the heart of this city."
NUMBATDOG wrote: "As a retired airline pilot I can speak with some authority about this. [A]n airport is the worst place to measure regional temperature. Airports are hot micro climates that should never be used for anything other than calculating aircraft performance.

Meteorologist Anthony Watts highlighted faulty weather stations in his series "How Not to Measure Temperature" at his blog "Watts Up With That."
A key revelation is that temperature readings are measuring local changes from expanding cities. Weather stations that were in the countryside are now surrounded by expanding asphalt and buildings. Temperature readings show changes in the local environment around airports -- not the planet's temperature.
A third article reviewed the proof that changing temperatures are from natural causes. Global warming was detected on the planets Mars and Pluto and Triton, a moon of Neptune. Increased storm activity on Jupiter and Saturn offer indirect evidence of higher temperatures. Note that Pluto was warming during a season in its orbit when it should have been cooling.
The Earth's orbit changes over time by the Milankovich Cycles. The Earth's distance to the sun change as the shape of its orbit is influenced by the gravity of the other planets. These cycles over thousands of years affect the total annual solar irradiance warming the Earth. The Sun's energy output changes over time due to the influence of the planets and their gravity as documented by Dr. Landscheidt.
