LONDON, July 8 (UPI)--Hillary Clinton said in an interview that if she had her choice of actresses to portray her in a biographical film, it would be Oscar winner Meryl Streep.

In her media blitz for her new book, Hard Choices, Clinton sat down with Britain's Guardian newspaper for an interview and was asked which actress she would choose for a film about her life.

"If I had a choice, it would be Meryl Streep, of course!" Clinton replied.

If Clinton asked her, Streep might be receptive as the two are friends. Streep has previously said she sees many similarities between herself and the former Secretary of State.

"I find a lot of similarities," Streep said at the Women in the World Summit in 2012. "We're roughly the same age, we both have two brothers -- mine are annoying -- we both grew up in middle-class homes with spirited, big-hearted mothers who encouraged us to do something valuable and interesting with our lives. We both went from public high schools to distinguished women's colleges. We both went on to graduate school at Yale."

This would not be the first time Streep has played a powerful woman. In 2012, she won the Oscar for Best Actress after playing former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. She might one day win an Oscar for her role as the first woman U.S. president.
