I don’t want the government involved in “good works”. I want the government to stay within the enumerated powers of the constitution. All kinds of evil comes from the increased role of government but the most obvious contribution to an evil force is corruption because it is an invitation to Hades to have citizen “A” vote with citizen “B” to take money from citizen “C: and give it to citizen “D”.
Or to say it another way “Politicians who rob Peter to pay Paul can always count on the vote of Paul.”
It starts there. A few decades later we have totalitarian oppression.
