National Review editor Rich Lowry
announced Wednesday that his publication will sue Newark mayor and Democrat US Senate
candidate Cory Booker, the City of
Newark, and that city's police department. The dispute stems from NR's desire to
verify a story Booker has repeatedly told about Wazn Miller, someone Booker
claims died in his arms after being gunned
down.
Lowry points out that although New Jersey is an
open-records state, "[W]e have been stonewalled and given the run-around by
everyone we’ve asked for help in obtaining the relevant police
records."
Booker has already been caught once
fabricating a story about someone called "T-Bone," a drug dealer who doesn't
exist.
