Sarah Silverman to Host Online Fundraiser for Abortion Rights

Sarah Silverman to Host Online Fundraiser for Abortion Rights
by Breitbart News 18 Nov 2013, 1:27 PM PDT
The increasingly political Sarah Silverman wants people to laugh at her jokes tonight and then cut a check to fund abortions in the Lone Star State.

Silverman and comedienne Lizz Winstead are hosting an online streaming telethon dubbed “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can Choose” to raise money for Texas-based abortion services and support groups. Others taking part in the event include comedienne Amy Schumer and actresses Kathy Najimy and Natasha Lyonne.

The Daily Beast's Sally Kohn sounded the alarm about the event and reminded potential donors that it's all right to laugh while supporting abortion rights.

But instead of feeling angry and helpless, Monday night you're invited to laugh and feel powerful—joining with millions of women across the country who trust women to make their own decisions and want government to focus on our economy, not our uteruses.

Proceeds will benefit The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity,Texas Equal Access Fund, Whole Woman's Health, and Fund Texas Women.
