Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker is the first Cabinet member to join Instagram.

The account, the Commerce Department said, gives followers a behind-the-scenes look at Pritzker's life as a Cabinet member.

Yes, indeed. The early photos show that Pritzer on Friday got up at 5:30 a.m. (ouch) for her morning run. A couple other photos show Pritzker reading on her daily commute (hint: she's not riding Metro) and attending a meeting at the White House.

In a statement sent to us, Pritzker said, "The launch is part of Commerce Department efforts to increase digital engagement with consumers, businesses and other stakeholders though 21st century technology."

Instagram is becoming more popular in politics.
