Bachmann: Chief Justice Should Have to Buy Insurance on Obamacare Exchanges

Bachmann: Chief Justice Should Have to Buy Insurance on Obamacare Exchanges

On Wednesday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts should buy his health insurance on the Obamacare exchanges.

According to The Hill, "Bachmann made the comments after a closed-door briefing from federal Health Department officials over the Obama administration’s response to initial problems with the implementation" of Obamacare after numerous malfunctions to the website.

"If we have to be subject to this disaster, they should have to be subject to this disaster, as well as every member of the Supreme Court, in particular John Roberts, who wrote the opinion," she reportedly said. "They should have to go into this exchange."

Roberts was the deciding vote in the 5-4 ruling that declared Obamacare was constitutional after determining that Obamacare's individual mandate was a tax, even though the Obama administration had argued that it was not.

Bachmann also said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should "voluntarily, today, relinquish her insurance,” and "the entire Department of Health and Human Services should go into the exchange."

She was not finished, saying that "every Cabinet member should go into the exchange. The president, the vice president of the United States should go into the exchange."
