Spike Lee: 'People Who Forget They're Black' Are in
'Trouble'

During a dull, one-sided interview, where Jorge Ramos didn't toss softballs so much as
gently hand them to Spike Lee, the director
called post-racial America "bullshit," claimed that he regularly
experiences racism (Ramos naturally didn't ask for examples), and said that,
"People who get in trouble are
the people who forget they’re black.”
What exactly Lee meant isn't clear, and Ramos clearly wasn't
interested in asking a follow-up to clarify. This might have been due to
Ramos's fear that were he to act like a journalist instead of sycophant, he
wouldn't get another chance to kiss Spike Lee's ring.
