LIBERAL PATHOLOGY

This article is aimed at fellow mental health professionals. Of
course, others are invited along for the ride. For several decades we have
observed that the same diagnostic criteria can be applied to groups, as well as
to individuals. Let’s start with a basic premise for diagnostics. Quote from a
Psychology Professor; “People are not who you think they are. People are not who they think they are. People are what they do. That is why this is called the behavioral science." Forget
the labels. They are all misleading. Pay attention to the behavior.
By
paying attention to the behavior of a group of people, it is possible to arrive
at a “group” diagnosis.
There is much discussion by Political Sages of the “Right” about
the roots of liberalism being entwined with human weakness and pathology.
Some of the issues being raised are:
1. Guilt and
self-loathing are woven into liberal philosophy and policy
2. Dependant personality
types are drawn to liberalism
3. Marginalized groups
and dysfunctional individuals are drawn to liberalism
4. Histrionic personality
types are drawn to liberalism
5. Liberal values
discourage people from acting in their own self-interest
6. Liberals think of
themselves as intellectually and ethically superior to conservatives
7. Liberals obsess about
making up rules for other people to follow
OCD and OCPD
The traits found in those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and
Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder are just a few of the indicators of
“character disorders” seen in liberal thinking, feeling, and behaving. We find
it fascinating to look at “collective personality traits,” and then diagnose
them as if they were individuals. Buy yourself a DSM-IV or V (Diagnostic Statistical
Manual) and have some fun. Another excellent book on pathological personality
traits is “New Personality Self-Portrait” by John Oldham, M.D. who wrote the
Personality Disorder section of the DSM-IV and V.
Personality disorders are different from other mental health
problems. Personality disorders are extreme examples of traits we all have. For
instance, if I carefully planned every detail of a trip I was taking, and
packed my suitcase in an orderly and through manner, I would be considered a conscientious
or responsible person. If I took so much time planning every detail and packing
so precisely that I missed my plane, I would be diagnosed as having
Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder.
In the behavioral sciences field, we understand the importance
of differentiating between Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive
Personality Disorder. Those with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder will be
very rigid about running their own lives. Those with Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder have a need to run other
people’s lives. The former might be neat freaks or hoarders and cause problems
and inconvenience for family members or acquaintances. The latter are “control”
freaks and they cause problems for everyone. They are uncomfortable without rules and established procedures, and are very
uncomfortable if everyone else does not follow THEIR rules. They are naturally
attracted to government service.
Here is an example of the work of an individual
with Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. If we could track down the
creator of this sign I guess you would find a person with a “LIBERAL PATHOLOGY.”
Probably
the most obvious personality disorder of liberals is that they are “CONTROL
FREAKS.” Especially their leadership! The root cause is anxiety.
Here is another image that really upsets liberals. They honestly
believe that their way is the only right way, and anyone who disagrees
is intellectually deficient.
THE RIGHT WAY
Why are Liberals so
Arrogant, but also so Wrong?
Liberals
have such a desperate, anxiety-driven need to have all their ducks in a row
that it is more important to them to shoot the ducks who will not conform than
to allow any ducks to express alternate opinions or behaviors. That is why a
government regulation on how to screw a nut on a bolt is 1200 pages long. That
is why leftist governments are responsible for so many deaths.
Most people are very aware of the holocaust, and the 5+
million horrific murders committed by Hitler and his Nationalist Socialist
(Nazi) party.
But how many people are
aware that:

Those drawn to definable political philosophies might also
exhibit personality traits that become so extreme that they could be called
pathologies.
In general, the Liberals would represent the “weak” disorders. Liberals
may be dependant, self-defeating, avoidant, or passive-aggressive. However
the liberal leaders are most likely to manifest the Cluster “B” personality
disorders:
·Antisocial
Personality Disorder (DSM-IV code 301.7): a pervasive disregard for the law and the rights of
others.
·Borderline Personality
Disorder (DSM-IV code 301.83):
extreme "black and white" thinking, instability in relationships,
self-image, identity, and behavior, often leading to self-harm and impulsivity.
·Histrionic Personality
Disorder (DSM-IV code 301.50):
pervasive, attention-seeking behavior, including inappropriately seductive behavior, and
shallow or exaggerated emotions.
·Narcissistic
Personality Disorder (DSM-IV code 301.81): a
pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of
empathy.

One of the significant indicators of personality pathology is an
inability to act in one’s own self interests. This also has to do with self-loathing.
You can see this manifested in liberal “hate.” A good example is the Left’s
attitude toward President G. W. Bush. It seems that if one hates with that much
venom, one must first carry much self-hatred. One may not be fond of the likes
of Michael Moore or John Kerry, but it becomes a pathology when folks work up
sufficient energy to hate them, like liberals hate “W” or Sarah Palin.
Many liberals seem to be unable to act in a clear path of
self-interest, including in the interest of their own country. Guilt contains
some of the main elements of the "liberal" self- loathing. We have
had many clients raised in an atmosphere heavy on guilt; they had
tremendous amounts of fear (fear of failing, fear of being found wanting, fear
of being “found out” for who they really are-or are not, etc.) always a sort of
low-level, non-specific sense of guilt. These are the perfect specimens
to become card-carrying "liberals." "I
should feel guilty because there are others in need, I should feel guilty
because my country is so much more prosperous than anyone else's, I should feel
guilty because my army can beat up their army, etc. The CIA sucks, we are stupid, we are evil, we are greedy, etc."
The
liberals are a good example of insular thinking. They reinforce each other
constantly, and instantly crush any idea competing with their “party line.” Liberals
are very diverse in who they will accept into their ranks. If you are a two-headed,
transsexual, who practices public nudity, liberals will accept you. However, if
you think Che Guevara
is a murderer, or that people have right to keep the money they earn*, you will
not be accepted. If your personality
or behavior is weird, you are welcome. If
you do not accept “liberal think” you
will be excluded. Liberals accept everyone, as long as they believe like they
do.
This is another symptom of the “True Believers” pathology. This
is one of the things that make political groups so dangerous. “All movements go
too far,” says Bertrand Russell.
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
*This is the premise the liberals support.

a non-citizen. That is fundamentally wrong! Anyone who cannot see the violation
of morality in that scenario has a corrupt soul.

So liberals steal from some citizens to buy
votes from other citizens. This behavior is just plain evil!
