John Podesta to Lead Obama's
Delegation to Canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II

The White House has announced that John Podesta, President Obama’s current Counselor, will lead
his delegation to the Holy See for
the Mass of canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II on April 27,
2014.
Podesta will head the delegation which
will also include Rep. Xavier Becerra, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus,
and Katie Beirne Fallon, Assistant to the President and Director of Legislative
Affairs.
Podesta is the founder and chairman of the
Center for American Progress (CAP), a
liberal think tank funded by wealthy liberal supporters such as George Soros, Peter B. Lewis,
Steve Bing, and Herb and Marion
Sandler. Podesta eventually turned CAP into the Democrat Party’s
policy and politics center.
Podesta served as President Bill Clinton’s
chief of staff from 1998 to 2001 and chaired Obama’s transition team in 2008,
ensuring that approximately one-third of CAP staff became members of the Obama
administration.
Barack Obama has actively campaigned for Planned Parenthood, even to the extent of asking God to
bless the abortion industry giant at its annual gala last year.
As Breitbart News reported in December, a
panel discussion sponsored by CAP came to the conclusion that Christian
conservatives use religion as a justification for discriminatory behavior,
particularly in the area of abortion rights and same-sex marriage.
Sally Steenland, director of CAP’s Faith
and Progressive Policy Initiative, said, “It sets up a false equation of ‘my
religious liberty versus same-sex marriage, reproductive rights’--as if those
two are inherently opposed and you’ve got to choose one versus the other. And
we, as we’ll talk about later in the panel, know that’s not the case.”
Becerra is rated 100% by pro-abortion
rights organization NARAL, and
voted against a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in 2004. He
is rated 100% by the Human Rights Campaign, an LBGT agenda
organization, for his pro-gay stance.
According to Vogue, Fallon was a leading
strategist in the effort to gather political support for the HHS mandate, the
rule in ObamaCare that requires most employers to provide free contraception,
sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs to their employees through health
insurance plans.
Fallon said in 2012 that she knew the
Republicans would “overplay their hand” on birth control. As staff director of
the Senate Democratic Policy and Communications
Center, she told her boss
at the time, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), “We shouldn’t overcomplicate things.
We should just put out the simple message that the Republicans are trying to
take away birth control.”
“The more we talked about it,” said
Fallon, “the more the public turned against the Republican position. We saw how
potent the women’s health issue is.”
Artificial contraception, abortion, and same-sex marriage are against the doctrines of
the Catholic Church.
On April 11, Pope Francis told an
audience, “We know human life is sacred and inviolable. Every civil law is
based on the recognition of the first and fundamental right, that to life,
which is not subject to any conditions, neither economic nor qualitative nor
ideological.”
While Pope Francis was archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he referred to his
country’s legalization of same-sex marriage
as “a move of the father of lies who wishes to confuse and deceive the children
of God.”
Then Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio made reference
to the Gospel of John, in which Jesus refers to Satan as “a liar and father of
lies.”
"We must pray for deliverance from
this evil which has penetrated our state and our church," the pope said.
