The nation's largest Tea Party
political action committee, Tea Party Express,
recently revved up for its ninth national bus
tour, dubbed “Fighting for Liberty.”
The tour began
in Fort Myers, Florida on
Saturday, April 19th and is heading west with stops in
Mississippi, Louisiana,
and Texas.
The buses will then head north,
rallying in Oklahoma, Kansas,
Nebraska, Iowa,
and Minnesota. The states were selected because of key
battles for House and Senate seats. The
tour is starting in Florida
where a hotly contested special election for a vacant House seat is being held.
The Tea Party Express rallies will
include a number of prominent conservative commentators, entertainers and
candidates seeking federal office. Announcements regarding speakers and
entertainers will be released throughout the week.
At the stops in Kansas, Dr. Milton Wolf, will be a featured speaker. Dr. Wolf is campaigning against
Republican incumbent Senator Pat Roberts.
Tea Party Express has endorsed Dr.
Wolf because he shares their conservative philosophy on issues like "out
of control spending, higher taxes
and the intrusiveness of government, including ObamaCare."
In a statement on the Tea Party Express website,
Executive Director Taylor Budowich said the team is
excited to get back out on the road in support of that conservative message of
fiscal responsibility, economic growth and limited government.
"2014 will be the year we rip
the gavel out of Harry Reid’s hand and stop the destructive policies of
President Barack Obama’s Administration, Budowich said.
“We will do that by rallying and
engaging conservative Americans from across the country on issues that are
important to us all. While we appreciate
the major advertising being done by many different political action committees,
our their focus is on rallying grassroots conservatives to become more involved
in the political process," Budowich concluded.
